biography
Andrea was born in Budapest, Hungary, raised in Brasil and Costa Rica. She started her studies in painting and art-history at the University of Costa Rica,San José. She first worked with sets and costumes at the National Theater of Costa Rica, first as a scenic artist, then also a designer.
In Budapest she graduated from the Eötvös Lóránd University, Faculty of Human Sciences. She has an MA in History and Philosophy of Art,a PhD in History and Theory of Theater. She wrote a book on "Theater Design at the Turn of the Century", published by the Hungarian Theater Institute. Meanwhile she got involved in underground- and dance-theater, rock-scene, and multimedia experiments with different Hungarian and foreign groups of the era. She founded with artist friends the Pankrator Ballet Action Group, and created art-performances and happenings in the turn of the 80’s-90’s.
Andrea works as a professional costume and set designer since 1991, having credit in more than 160 productions in Hungary and other countries /Denmark,Sweden,Czech Republic,Slovakia,England,Korea,Japan,Philippines,US /. She also had chance to participate as creator in world openings. She designed „non-replica” costumes for several different Miss Saigon productions around the world ( in Denmark,Sweden,Philippines,Hungary). Frank Wildhorn chose her to design the original sets and costumes for the world opening of his musical Carmen. The premiere was in Prague in 2008 (Seoul in 2013, Tokyo in 2014, scheduled to have an opening on Broadway). She has been nominated to many awards in Hungary and other countries.

She was the Crowd Supervisor for Marvel's Moonight series,produced in Hungary, Assistant Costume Designer for the series Dangerous Liaisons for Starz, produced in Czech Republic. Also made visuals for video clips and commercials.
Andrea's creations were also presented in several group-exhibitions. In 2004 had an individual exhibition as a designer titled DE/SIGNS. She also keeps creating artwork and taking part in experimental projects and art-exhibitions.
